Faiz Subri Becomes the First Malaysian To Win the Prestigious Puskás Award

This is definitely the best moment for Malaysian football!

29 year-old football player Faiz Subri did not disappoint his countrymen and fans today. The striker won the prestigious Puskás Award, an award for the football player who scored the "most beautiful" goal of the year.

The award was presented to him by legendary Brazilian footballer, Ronaldo.


In his thank you speech, Faiz thanked his family, team, and fans for their support. He said that this goal and award is "the result of endless practice". The Penang striker said he would love to play in European leagues as well.

Faiz won the award with 59.46% of the overall votes. He's also the first Asian football player to win this award.
