Today, Google has put up Tan Sri P. Ramlee's Doodle on their homepage, honouring the great Malaysian film and music legend on his 88th birthday. The Penang-born actor, director, writer, singer made Malaysian proud as we don’t often see any other Malaysians being immortalised on the Google homepage. Google has also place famous persona like Audrey Hepburn and William Shakespeare on this pedestal.
The Doodle portrays P. Ramlee, with his distinctive M-shaped forehead and macho moustache, holding a loudspeaker and musical sheets as well as an acoustic guitar that leans on his director chair.
Tan Sri P. Ramlee, who acted in more than 60 films, includes ‘Ibu Mertua-ku’, and ‘Tiga Abdul’ passed away on the 29th of May 1973 and was laid to rest at Jalan Ampang Muslim Cemetery, Kuala Lumpur.
