Elton John Opened His Concert With a Touching Tribute To George Michael

The singer was good friends with George Michael.

Before starting his Las Vegas show, Elton John spoke to his audience about how he took the news of George Michael's death.

Elton said that it was "one of the saddest moments" in his career as a musician. He and George had a good friendship since George's early days in Wham!. 

 

He then opened the show with Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me, the duet he once sang with George in 1990.

Elton told the audience in tears that he wished that "George was here to sing" their duet with him again. 

 

Such a beautiful musical tribute for wonderful and talented musician.
