Is Eating More Meals a Day Healthier For You?

A nutritionist answers this question.

A lot of people talk about going "on diet" when they want to lose weight. Even those who are at their ideal weight too say they're "on diet" to maintain their weight. However, what most of them mean by "on diet" involves limiting food intake and meals portions.

But is that the right way to go about weight management?

According to nutrition expert, Michelle Adam-Arent, limiting food intake isn't the right thing to do. Instead, you should be looking at distributing food proportionately throughout the day with more meals. This is the recommended number of meals and time:

This schedule of eating will absorb more nutrients from food, and makes it easier for you to lose weight. Take note that you should be eating six meals of healthy food, not six meals of fast food and candy.
